Metadata Scrubber
See what your photos, PDFs and Office files give away — GPS position, camera serial, author, company, who commented — and download a clean copy.
● runs in your browser · files never uploaded · network blocked by CSP
What it finds
Photo EXIF (GPS, camera and lens serials, owner, dates), the hidden preview thumbnail, XMP and IPTC, data appended after the image · PDF author, company, dates, XMP and the names on comments · Word, Excel and PowerPoint authors, last editor, company, manager, template path, custom properties, comment and tracked-change authors — and the GPS inside photos pasted into a document.
What it keeps
The picture and the document. JPEG pixels are copied byte-for-byte (no re-compression) and the rotation tag stays, so photos do not flip. PDFs are edited in place at the same size, so their internal structure stays valid.
Limits
Metadata is not the only leak: faces, reflections, screen contents and the text itself still speak. PDFs that store document info in compressed object streams are flagged, not fixed. Always look at the result before you share it.
